Wow on vista 64

No problems at all. If anything the game is smoother on my Vista install then it is on my XP install. The game stays smooth as a hot knife through butter. WoW on 32Bit Vista runs fine.. It does take 2 odd seconds for Aero to restart when you alt tab out but other than that cant complain runs fine just as it did under XP. Running WoW in Vista x64 here, in windowed mode I like my taskbar damnit!

Works great at x with 8xAA, no idea what the baed windowed performance is about :p. This includes Alt-tabbing to go to thottbot or do whatever while flying, etc. As for the comment on Aero taking to 2 seconds to restart, I have no such issues. Run in Full-screen mode x No problems with WoW here on Vista bit.

I get about fps in fullscreen mode x, and about fps in windowed mode with the "Aero VS" disabled. The bit version of Windows Vista operating system is for about The bit Windows Vista Ultimate achived The higher number of points is better. Create an account. Remember me. Previous Share Flag Next. I have a question? Is anyone running Wow on Windows Vista 64? WoW should work fine with your computer specs I would say it's a WoW server problem. Where is the lag happening in game? Are you in a major city? Does your server say FULL population? Some servers are highly populated and no matter what PC you have you will experience lag when playing during peak hours in certain areas like major cities.

Once you enter a new area your on a different server soooo. You can test this simply by going to a less populated zone like Elwynn forest or make a new character on a server with a low population if you still have lag then go to worldofwarcraft. It isn't the server.

I have multiple friends who play on the same server with no problems whatsoever. I also tried it on a low population server and had the same issue. What your experiencing is screen tearing, that's my guess. Do you have vertical sync on? That should disable the tearing. I have vertical sync on with triple buffering, and the problem is still there. The lag is really that game-hurting, it just looks annoying and gets irritating after awhile. All that happens is a quick skip in the fps that pushes me back the smallest amount, sometimes with multiple in quick succession.

I really don't know what it would be. Try turning off the new shadow detail levels implemented with patch 3. Vista 64 doesn't seem to like them very much. For those that just wanted to have Vista, I hope you don't have any problems with your new OS. This early there is no need to switch, just some techy guys love the thrill of trying something new.

I am personally waiting as well, but I understand the guys that like to try new software out as soon as it's released. Kind of similar to the BC release.

On one hand you had guys saying, 'I am going to wait a week or two until the servers stable out'. On the other hand you had guys waiting in line a midnight at their local software store. I don't know if I would label upgrading for the sake of upgrading a 'risky proposition'.

Simply back-up what you don't want to lose, and if Vista doesn't work just re-install XP. I hear the 64bit processing if you have a 64 bit chip is a huge performance upgrade. Yea it still works but jeez upgrade will ya.

Lol, sorry I dont consider something like Windows 95 working. XP works, its fully supported, there are drivers for all hardware and software is fine. Anything new you buy will work with XP. Unlike XP if you are running 98 or 95 you no longer get updates, support and most companies dont even make drivers for it.
