Overview Featuring Digitech's multi-distortion circuitry and a Morph knob for minute attenuation of the overdrive character, the Tone Driver covers a wide spread from a bluesy boost to a metal crunch. Striking and sturdy in appearance and sound, this effect pairs versatility with an attractive price point for an excellent deal.

I don't use it on my rig, because I like better the stuff I have there, but for messing around at home, practice at home into my Tascam GT-1 with the terrible patches Also for recording Anyone here own one, or have tried it? Thought I would mention it, it is a little more expensive than the Bad Monkey, but the range of it is the selling point.
I wonder how accurate it is on the types of TS pedals. I only have a stock TS-9, of the ones to choose from in the TD. I'm happy, just this thing has also a mixer out connection which is nice for what I'm using it for. Just curious if nobody has bought one from here and if not, why not? Messages I have one and I love it. One caveat - it eats batteries like there's no tomorrow - Digitech even includes a note in the box that says so - make sure you get the power supply.
Ed Alvarado Member. Messages 1, I love this pedal! I'ts on my lillte grab and go board and I use for solo's and some crunchy chord stuff. With a neck humbucker I can get into Santana land and cool blues with singles. Most def a very cool overlooked pedal. Basically, the Bad Monkey was the equivalent of having the Tone Driver morph knob set on the 12 o'clock position. The other interesting thing to note is that while the Monkey is analog and the Tone Driver is digital, I really could hear no difference between the pedals when the morph knob was set at 12 o'clock.
While the Monkey sounded great on rhythm, I thought it lacked the mid-range punch for soloing. Both are good pedals, but I'd give the nod to the Tone Driver for its versatility. I especially like it in the TS mode. StompBox - yep, when the battery starts to go bad, the pedal acts erractically. It doesn't take much battery power to keep the LED light lit. When the battery goes bad, it kind of reminded me of how a guitar with EMG's sounds when the battery is dying - very weak and erratic signal.
Hot Rod Distortion is very good too. StompBoxBlues said:. That's interesting. The only thing both, in my experience, lack is the guitar vol interaction. I think both lose too much volume unlike other pedals I have where volume stays I just sold mine, though not because I hated it, my others were just better. I am surprised that that the Bad Monkey gets rave reviews over the Tone Driver myself.
